More from my new camera

Here are a few more from my new camera. I am loving this thing. By far my favorite thing to take pictures of is my own family. I love my little boy Oliver. My niece Savanna in the red and her sister have been visiting for the last few weeks. Savanna usually hates to have her picture taken, but I told her I would help her fix the swing set if she let me take her picture. It worked.

These were all taken with a Contax 645 with 80mm f/2 lens on Fuji 400H 220.

oquirrh mountain temple

Last week I picked up a camera that I have been wanting for a long time. I finally ordered it in the middle of April and it took almost four weeks to get here. I don't know why it took so long, maybe customs, but when it arrived I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I just got my first roll of film back from the lab and I am in love with this camera. It is a Contax 645, which uses 120 and 220 film. The look and colors that are produced with the combination of film, Zeiss lenses and big negatives are just incredible. I had to go try it out as soon as I got it so I went for a drive and took a few shots of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. Anyone in Utah knows how crazy the weather was this week. This was taken as the snow storm was moving in.

It was taken on Fuji 400H with a 45mm f/2.8 lens. Expect a lot more photos from this camera.

You can order this print HERE.

My two favorite people

These are my two favorite people in the world. Shalynna is the best mother to my little boy, and the best wife to me. No words can describe the appreciation I feel for all she does.

at the beach

Last week we got back from a needed vacation to go see my family in California. We stayed a few nights at this old beautiful beach house up in Sonoma County, about two hours north of San Francisco. I think the northern California coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth. We had a ton of fun just hanging out with everyone, feeding seagulls copious amounts of bread and playing taboo.

Nevada

Last week Shalynna, Oliver and me drove to California to see my family (Oliver nor Shalynna actually drove), and we left in the middle of the night so Oliver would sleep for at least half of the drive. I have made the drive from Utah to California on I-80 more times than I can remember and I have never seen it look so beautiful. I am being serious, the sunrise and the crazy weather across the desert was incredible. It was totally worth waking up in the middle of the night for that experience. I wish I would have taken more pictures earlier in the morning. These are a few later in the morning when we had to make a stop to feed and change Oliver.
